Waterloo is at the “crossroads” of Northeastern Indiana due to several major transportation routes meeting here, including a railroad; Amtrak passenger train stops here several times a day.  We are only 20 minutes from the DeKalb County Airport, and only 40 minutes from Fort Wayne International Airport.  We are also close to the “lake country” of Steuben County, which offers many year-round recreational opportunities.

Waterloo has an outstanding public library, built with funds from the Carnegie Foundation in the early part of the 20th Century.  The Waterloo Grant Township Public Library provides outreach services such as after school and summer programs as well as computer and Internet access.  Our library also combines efforts with local schools and other organizations.

We also offer a modern elementary school, with the junior and senior high schools just a few miles outside of town.  Waterloo offers the advantages of a small town, such as affordable housing and atmosphere, but is close to major shopping facilities, recreational activities, and other conveniences of modern life.
